!REFERENCE: 2017 was obituary [updated and expanded], "Ruby Catherine Cook Hamilton, 93, of Marietta, Georgia, died peacefully 21 Apr 2017. She was born 19 Apr 1924, the daughter of Jess Bunyan Cook and Clara Estelle Bowan Cook. Mrs. Hamilton was a longtime member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church. She retired after 30 years of employment with Roswell Manufacturing Company. Surviving are her two daughters; JoAnn Ivey and Deanie (Jamie) Slayton, one son; Russell (Martha) Hamilton, seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Joel B. and son, Richard Hamilton. She will be remembered, as a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Funeral services for Mrs. Hamilton will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, 25 Apr 2017 at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, 1770 Johnson Ferry Road, Marietta, Georgia 30068 with Pastor Susan Landry and Rev. Cassie Rapko officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Zion Church Cemetery, Post Oak Tritt Road, Marietta, Georgia 30067. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 pm on Monday, 24 Apr 2017, at the funeral home, H. M. Patterson & Son - Canton Hill, 1157 Old Canton Road, Marietta, Georgia 30068 (770) 977-9485. In lieu of usual remembrances, memorial donations may be made to Mt. Zion United Methodist Church.
