Porter Sr.; a son, Douglas Alfred Porter; and a brother, Alfred Borden Mosher. She is survived by a daughter, Carol Hare and her husband, Gene R. Hare; three sons, Robert E. Jr. and his wife, Edley, Richard W. and his wife, Sherry, and Clifford B. Porter and his wife, Trudy; a brother, Clifford Robert Mosher, of Wellesley, Mass.; 12 grandchildren, Amy, Carrie, Gene, Katie, Ginny, Elizabeth, Robert III, Walt, Bennett, Anne, Caroline, and Borden; and four great-grandchildren, Lauren, Casone, Garrett, and Riley. Mrs. Porter was a long-time and active member of Ginter Park Baptist Church and the Ginter Park Community Center, where she and her family enjoyed many activities and made many friends. Her home was always a welcome place for the neighborhood kids. She was a devoted wife, and loving mother and grandmother, who had a strong faith in God. During WWII, she was a stewardess for American Airlines and, later, she volunteered for many years at Richmond Memorial Hospital. She enjoyed spending time with her family at the family’s cottage on the Little Wacomico River on the Northern Neck. Her remains rest at Bliley Funeral Homes’ Central Chapel, 3801 Augusta Ave., where the family will receive friends today from 2 to 4 and 5 to 7 p.m. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, 26 May at Ginter Park Baptist Church. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, followed by a reception at Ginter Park Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Ginter Park Baptist Church, 1200 Wilmington Avenue, Richmond, Virginia 23227.
