!REFERENCE: 2004 obituary, "Mrs. Gladys Blackwell Abernathy, age 92, formerly of Cumming, passed away Tuesday, August 24, 2004. She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude B. Abernathy. Miss Gladys leaves behind a heritage of faith, an amazing witness of how to live life for the Lord and not ourselves, an awesome bowling score, and a heavenly singing voice. She was loved by all who knew her and strong beyond her earthly abilities. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Maron Blackwell, Cleo Cunningham, Hattie Barber, Neil Fincher, Tom Blackwell and Bill Blackwell. Survivors include children, Joyce and Donnie Jordan, Dawsonville; Alice Enright, S.C.; grandchildren, Michelle "Shelley" and Steve Green, Cedartown; Lisa Jo and Russell Cash, Dawsonville; Marcy and Ed Carroll, VA; Kathleen Seymour, S.C.; Adam Seymour, TX; 8 great grandchildren, sisters in-law, Mrs. Beverly Blackwell, OK; Mrs. Elsie Blackwell, Conyers; Mrs. Mildred Orr, TN; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive. Interment, Arlington Memorial Park."
