!REFERENCE: OneWorldTree71, Sarah Ruddle, parents Isaac Ruddell and Susan, grandparents Archibald Ruddell (1727-1786) and Elizabeth Beggs (1730-1792) , 4 children, Archibald Ruddell was the older brother of Isaac Ruddell (1729-1812) who married Elizabeth Bowman (1737-1811)
!REFERENCE: Oct-2007 emails from Charles Margolis to Don Braffitt, "For Isaac Riddle (Ruddell/Ruddle) who married Elizabeth Bowman... He's believed to have been born between 1729-1738. Narrowing in on 1730/1, that is likely. He is believed to have died around 1810-12. His will was probated Feb. 1812. Elizabeth and Isaac are believed to have been married around 1750/1 or so. Isaac was older than she was, that is not so uncommon, Elizabeth's brother also married a woman much younger than himself. Then again the later estimate for Isaac's birth would have made him about the same age as Elizabeth, however, like I mentioned, I'm leaning towards the earlier 1731 or so on his birth. ... Sounds like Elizabeth Bowman is believed to have been born March 18, 1736/7 (the U.S. Colonies and Britain switched to the modern Gregorian Calendar in 1752, the previous Julian Calendar celbrated New Years on March 25th, so originally it was 1736). She gave an affidavit in Kentucky in 1813. Sounds like she passed around 1815 or so. Elizabeth Bowman was the daugher of George Bowman and Mary Hite. Mary was the daughter of Joist Hite, one of the first settlers of the Shenandoah Valley. The Elizabeth's brothers were high ranking officers in the American Revolution. Elizabeth herself was a Prisoner of War along with her husband, for 2-3 years under hellish circumstances. ... I do not have a Sarah Ruddell, as a daughter of Isaac. There is a Sarah who was a neice, sister to my (5) Great Grandfather, James Ruddell. And a Sarah Ruddell, daugher of Abraham Ruddell who was Isaac son. Her second marriage occurred in 1820. She had 4 children previously with Andrew Criswell. The second marriage was to Moses Graham. Charles Margolis."
