!REFERENCE: 27-Feb-2013 email from Carolyn McAbee-Gober to Don Braffitt, "Lelan/Lillian/Leland McCoy 'Coy' Byrd … is last found on the 1940 Tulsa, OK census. His wife, Mary Ott, was back in Montana by 1951 when she acquired her social security card. She died in Montana, also ... as a 'widow' and is buried in Custer Co. MT. She is buried in the same cemetery as Coy's brother, Washington Sheridan Byrd, but not close to him. Last week I called keeper of records for the cemetery and the fellow told me Coy is not buried there and that 'the county buried Mary', which could simply mean she was in a nursing home on social security and had to relatives to sign the death certificate. Is anyone else looking for Coy? He was my grandmother Pennington's brother."
