(Feeley) Alger, 97, of Hope-dale, died Monday, Nov. 10, 2008, at St. Camillus Health Center in Northbridge, after a period of declining health. She was the wife of Robert F. Alger, who died in 1982. Mrs. Alger was born in Spring Hill, Nova Scotia, Canada, the daughter of the late Cornelius and the late Rebecca (Giles) Feeley. She attended schools in Nova Scotia as a young girl and came to the United States with her family at the age of 16. As a young woman, Mrs. Alger was first employed at Framingham Union Hospital and later worked as a private cook for a family in Wellesley. She was a resident of Hopedale for most of her life and was a longtime communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Hope-dale. Mrs. Alger is survived by her three children, Geri A., wife of Dr. George May, of Uxbridge, Robert T. Alger of Mendon and Patricia A., wife of Patrick Niro, of Milford; four grandchildren, Jeffrey Fafard of Uxbridge, Peter Fafard of Jupiter, Fla., Laticia Michelson of Milford and Gina Maynard of Upton; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Her funeral will be held Saturday, Nov. 15, from Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress St., Milford, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m., in Sacred Heart Church, 187 Hopedale St., Hopedale. Burial will follow in Hopedale Village Cemetery, Hopedale. A visiting hour will be held Saturday morning, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., prior to her funeral Mass.
