His memory will be cherished by his family including his former wife and dear friend, Jennifer Wendy Cook Safyre of Milford; his loving children, Alexander Safyre and his wife, Colleen of Milford and Victoria Palmieri and her husband, Joseph of Easton; two grandchildren, Nina and Briana Safyre of Milford; and one sister-in-law, Elizabeth Linden of England. Born and raised in Long Island, he had been a resident of Connecticut for most of his life, having lived in Darien, the Southport and Greenfield Hill sections of Fairfield and most recently in Trumbull. Stationed in the Pentagon, he served in the United States Army for several years. A retired senior account executive, he worked for Blue Bell, Inc. for more than 22 years. Bill possess a true love of classical music, and had been a regular volunteer for the WSHU annual fundraising campaign. A man devoted to his family, he shared many fond memories with them of vacations to Bermuda, the New Jersey shoreline, Vermont, and Europe. Calling hours will be held Friday, March 7, 2008 from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, in Fairfield Center, with a prayer service to be held at 7:30 p.m. His interment will be private.
