!REFERENCE: 07-Aug-1854 Union, GA, Court of Ordinary, Drury Logan appointed guardian of James M. Cook, "illigitimate child of Martha Cook", https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3QS7-893T-FSQW
!NOTE: Assuming these court records are accurate, James Madison Cook is a Cook descendant through his mother Martha Patsey Cook. However, he is not a straightline male Cook descendant of Martha's father William Cook. This means that straightline male Cook descendants of James Madison Cook would probably not show any Y-DNA close match to any straightline male Cook descendants of Martha's brothers. One situation where Y-DNA testing might still show connections to straightline male descendants of William Cook is if James Madison Cook's biological father is a straightline male Cook descendant of William Cook or one of William Cook's brothers, etc.
