!REFERENCE: 2000, Harwell Family Genealogy Forum629, "My Mary Mercer was born probably after 1762 as her husband, Ebenezer Fain was born August 27, 1762 in Chester County, PA. She died February 11, 1846 in Gilmer Co., GA although one source has her at her son, David's home in a different county. Apparently Mary and Ebenezer Fain didn't have tombstones or they were primitive and nothing remains to be read."

!REFERENCE: Mercer Genealogy Forum632, "Need parent of Mary "Polly" Mercer, born 25 Dec.1762 she died 12 Feb.1846, Fannin Co. Ga. she married Ebenezer Fain ca 1781 who got their marriage license from Col. Sevier. They lived Washington Co NC now Tenn. (Jonesboro), moved to 96th District, later moved to Buncumbe Co.Nc. They both died Fannin Co Ga. She was about 18 when she married, she is know in records as both Mary Mercer and Mary Mercer Black. It is unknown if she was previously married perhaps to Revolutionary soldier. Ebenezer was Revolutionary soldier who fought at Kings Mountain. I just don't know where she belongs. There are both Mercer's and Black's in same area where they lived."
