!REFERENCE: 17-May-2001 email from Rhoda Taylor Fone, "There are many errors in VA Cousins and this seems to be one of them. It doesn't seem likely that Thomas Goode would leave everything he had to his brothers and sister if he had children of his own. It would only make sense that he would have provided for his chidren if he had any and left them and their property in the care of a guardian. It seems more likely that Edward Goode came from the family of Edward Goode the headright who lived on the north side of James River at Four Mile Creek. There is a great dispute over this as it seems everyone wants to connect to the John of Whitby Goode family because they were literate whereas Edward of Four Mile Creek could not write."
