549, pages 71-72, Walter Alexander Hash, "The HASH HISTORY (Mss) compiled by Rev. Walter A. Hash, Sr. (Preacher, Missionary, and Educator) has been the 'seed-bed' from which this historian has plucked many HASH branches ... "May the memory of his 'like' remain alive on the face of the earth - long after his fibers have returned to 'dust'! His life has been the subject of a biography, entitled, "A MAN AND A MISSION". His work is mentioned throughout another book, "BY PRAYER AND THANKSGIVING". A third book is presently being written about the Reverend and Mrs. Hash and their work in Southwestern Virginia. Walter A. Hash served as President of Oak Hill Baptist Academy (Mouth of Wilson) for about 27 years; he was active in Baptist work throughout the State ofVirginia. He served a number of years as Chairman of the Board of Supervisors of Grayson County. His daughter, Elizabeth Miles and his granddaughter Patricia Miles, have carried on his genealogical studies, and through their generosity, many another HASH has been enabled to hook-up with his own HASH ANCESTORS."
