She was the wife of the late Philip M. Giles Sr. who died in 1987. Mrs. Giles was born May 12, 1918, in Milford, N.H., the daughter of the late Charles A. and Roma (Hutchinson) Cutts. She was a graduate of Milford High School, Milford, N.H. Mrs. Giles had been a resident of Newton before moving to Hopedale 1983. Mrs. Giles was a former member of the First Congregational Church of Newton Centre and a member of the Union Evangelical Church of Hopedale. Mrs. Giles was a talented seamstress and enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and arts and crafts. Mrs. Giles other hobbies included playing cards and bingo. She also enjoyed travel. She and her husband had many wonderful trips throughout the United States visiting all 50 states. She had also traveled to Australia and New Zealand. Mrs. Giles is survived by two sons; Philip M. and his wife Doris Giles Jr. of Bethlehem, Pa.., Kenneth W. and his wife Maureen Giles of Medway, four grandchildren; Suzanne Simon of Vero Beach, Fla., Janet Giles of Barnstead, N.H., Pamela Giles and Jimmy Giles, both of Medway and one great-granddaughter, Zoe Simon of Vero Beach, Fla. She is pre-deceased by one brother; Charles Bud Cutts Jr. and two sisters; Eleanor Maynard and Barbara Sargent. Graveside services will be private and held at the convenience of the family in the Newton Cemetery, Newton. Memorial donations may be made to the Hopedale Council on Aging, 78 Hopedale St., Hopedale, MA 01747 or to the , 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
