Newburgh, New York - Formerly of Walden, New York. Frances J. Snyder who lived with her loving daughter, Josephine Coranas and son-in-law, Tom, peacefully passed away on Sunday, 8 Oct 2017 at Elant Nursing Home, Newburgh, New York. The family would like to thank the nursing home staff and appreciates their kindness and good care. Daughter of the late Josephine (Braffett) Ransom and Frank Earl, she was born on 17 Oct 1923 in the Town of Blooming Grove, New York. She was 93 years old. Through the years she had several opportunities to work in a few offices doing clerical work. She was an active member of the Walden Seniors for many years, serving as President, Treasurer and Trip Coordinator. Along with her daughter and son-in-law, Frances is survived by her sons: William Wells, and his wife, Marge, of North Carolina and Les Nichols, and his wife, Gail, of Newburgh; seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren; sister, Clara Popp of Walden and Florida; sister-in-law, Betty Earl of Wallkill; three nieces and one nephew. She was predeceased by her husbands, Ed Snyder (1995), and Les Nichols (1959), sister, Elizabeth Markle, brother, Fred Earl, and niece, Linda Werner. Being such a wonderful, caring and appreciative mother and grandmother, she will sadly be missed by all her family and friends. A special thanks to her grandsons, Kevin and Gary Coranas, living nearby, who brought so much love and smiles every day. Services and cremation will be private. Burial of her cremains will be in the Wallkill Valley Cemetery, Walden.
