She was a native of Brooklyn, N.Y., and moved to Nobleton 21 years ago from Atlanta, Ga. She graduated from Norwalk General Hospital with a degree of registered nurse, furthering her education at John Hopkins University, Maryland. She taught nursing assistants and medical terminology in Pinellas County and certified nursing assistants and home health aides in Hernando County. She was a member of the Brooksville garden, woman's and music clubs and First Presbyterian Church, Brooksville. Survivors include two daughters, Pamela Norfleet of Ocala and Cynthia Wagner of Fayetteville, Ga.; a son, David T. Short of Hickory, N.C.; three stepsons, Bruce of Troy, Ill., John of Macon, Ga., Jim of Clarksville, Ga.; a granddaughter, Kimberly Norfleet; and three grandsons, David Norfleet, John David Short and Christopher Bell Short.
