Radford, 82, Radford Road, Athens Route 1, died early Wednesday morning at his home. He had been in ill health for the past year. A lifelong resident of Athens County, the son of the late William and Eliza Jane Hanning Radford, he was a retired farmer and formerly employed in the Athens County oil fields, He was a member of the Alexander Presbyterian Church, the Athens Grange and the Farm Bureau. Surviving are his wife, Gertrude, with whom he recently celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary on March 25; three grandchildren, Larry Radford, Mrs. Maxine Radcliffe, and Mrs. Judy Rich, all of Athens Route 1; seven great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Della Clark, Fremont. He was preceded in death by a son, Harold, who died in 1965 and a son, Early Leroy, who died in 1910. Services will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. in the Alexander Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Frank Hare officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. Friends may call at the Hughes Funeral Home, Athens, after 2:30 p.m. Thursday."
